-- Pro Wrestling Illustrated -- which is still alive -- has published its list of the top 500 wrestlers each year since 1991, in an annual special edition magazine called the PWI 500. Randy Orton tops the list this year. Orton is on the cover of the magazine and the headline reads: "Randy Orton #1 - "Who Else?" John Cena topped the list the past two years. You can see the cover at the official Pro Wrestling Illustrated website. The magazine is scheduled to hit newsstands on Tuesday, August 19, but it should be in mailboxes in a week or two.

I suppose that Randy Orton was the most consistent wrestler in 2007, but I probably wouldn't rank him at #1. Now, Cena put on more great matches than Orton did. It pains me to say that, but it's true.

On top of that, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, and AJ Styles have also all stayed very consistent throughout 2007 and might've actually been better than Orton for the year.

And what about ROH? CMLL? Ect. Almost every year, the PWI 500 is dominated by WWE wrestlers...I understand that PWI is more of a kayfabe magazine and WWE is the largest company in the world at the moment, but there are better wrestlers in the year of 2007 than Randy Orton.

Now, please excuse me while I go get my head checked out...

People said he was growing stale as champion , I didnt think he was.

The Age of Orton should have played out alot longer but due to politics i supose that didnt happen.

PWI is a kayfabe magazine so it's rankings of wrestlers are never really proper. I don't take them seriously. The Power Slam yearly rankings I do.

I agree, I don't take them seriously either.

Sometimes, they are either too biased or they show too much favoritism.
