Spoiler - Three Big Matches Confirmed For SummerSlam

At this week’s ECW/SmackDown tapings from Philadelphia, the following matches have been announced for this year’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Below are the three matches which have been confirmed for the PPV:

WWE Championship Match
Triple H (c) vs. The Great Khali

ECW Championship Match
Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy

Hell In A Cell Match
The Undertaker vs. Edge

Well I'm totally unimpressed already. I don't like Triple H but he's a good worker who can have a decent brawl. But he's main eventing with Khali? That's going to be very poor quality. Khali is slow, dull and with me not being a HHH fan either, that's a main event to miss. I'm pretty sure WWE could have found a better suited challenger, no I'm certain. Rematch with Edge/HHH and hold off the 'Taker return and actually save some cred (two months and you call that retirement?). Henry/Hardy should be inteeresting. Not the actual match as most matches with Henry suck and I don't think Matt can save that as Henry will probably just beat him down for large portions. It should be interesting to see who wins though, probably Henry as they're building him up big right now and his reign has only just started. And then we have Edge vs. The Undertaker for the hundred and twenty second time. Even though it's Hell in a Cell, seeing those two together just isn't fresh anymore. Should be decent but kinda dull because of the amount of times they've faced off before.

Undertaker Vs edge in a hell in a cell is going to be freaking brilliant. I cant wait for that.

But regarding Khali/HHH it just plain out sucks. HHH is a great champion without question and i dont want khali holding the gold once again. he sucked last time and cant wrestle for crap. Hopefully its a quick match so we dont have to suffer Smile

WWE Championship Match
Triple H (c) vs. The Great Khali

This seems completely ridiculous to me. Now I know that I was clamoring for new and fresh feuds before the draft, but I did not mean this. Khali is not great at working matches and I don't think Triple H will be able to carry him. I'm no fan of HHH, but I do give the man credit - he can put on decent matches and headline PPVs as champion well. Khali does not need to be headlining PPVs IMO. I think I would rather see Big Show, Jeff Hardy, or Umaga as the contender than Khali.

ECW Championship Match
Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy

Mark Henry is yet another WWE superstar whose matches generally put me to sleep. I don't think there is anyone you could put with him from the ECW roster that I would be really excited about seeing him wrestle. However, since he is the champion this is much more easily rationalized than putting Khali in a PPV title defense. Matt Hardy is definitely one of my favorite wrestlers and I'm glad he is getting this spot in the card. While I am not sure that it will happen at SummerSlam, I look forward to the day that Matt Hardy takes the ECW championship and shows WWE what he can do as the top guy on a brand.

Hell In A Cell Match
The Undertaker vs. Edge

Wow. Just wow. How many times have I seen Undertaker vs. Edge? I remember a match between them from last year's Armageddon. Oh and this year's Wrestlemania. And this year's Judgment Day. And this year's One Night Stand. I am growing tired of seeing Undertaker vs. Edge or really any combination of Undertaker, Edge, and Batista (for the WHC or otherwise). I can only hope that his HIAC match is the end to Edge and Undertaker feuding because I really am ready for Undertaker to feud with some new people.

Edge/Undertaker hell in a cell should be great. Take Edge with all his heel heat. Take Undertaker and how over he is coming back from a two month absence. Put them in Undertaker's best match and you've got great potential for a ***** classic.

I don't care how often they've wrestled, this is going to be good.

I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy it. I will never understand though why it is not later in the year. A two month absence is really not a big deal. If he was supposedly banished from the WWE, his hiatus should be months longer. I am really tired of seeing the two of them and no gimmick match can really save this for me.

HHH/Khali and Henry/Hardy will be snoozefests. And I agree with LM, I got bored of Edge/Taker back at the 600th time I saw it.

I can only assume that The Undertaker is gonna be brought back by Vickie to kick Edge's ass.

But why in the bluest of blue hells is The Great Khali going after the WWE Title.

Is this that push that i posted about a few months ago after Khali returned from India ?

I actually want to see this match. Obviously Khali will be playing the big guy that moves slow. But I want to see how Triple H pulls off the moves and how the match works. But no way in hell I would pay for it. Not really a selling point.

ECW Championship Match
Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy

Umm Mark Henry has been needing help in all his matches lately. From Tony Atlas to Colin Delaney. How will he win this one? I want him to drop it to Matt Hardy but I don't think he will. I do not want to see Matt Hardy get squashed so hopefully Mark Henry cheats. Then again I wouldn't pay for that either way.

Hell In A Cell Match
The Undertaker vs. Edge

Probably the best match out of all of them. I seen them fight each other so many times so they are going to have to pull out all the stops. Maybe even a few high spots off the cell. Something good. This is probably what they will have to base the PPV around unless they can think of a great match for Punk.
