I say Shelton Benjamin. He seems to have more all-round ability than kofi although Kofi is still pretty new to WWE. Shelton hasn't made much progress since his debut his athleticism is unmatched and he has the potential to be a top tier champion one day. I think he works much better as a face though and I recon through if he works his ass off having great matches for years, he'll become super popular and be given a World Title in reward like Chris Benoit. Chris wasn't very charismatic and his promos weren't brilliant but his matches were always good and Shelton is the same. He's not as talented in the ring as Benoit was but I say he has more charisma and he's still young, there is plenty of time for him. Kofi seems over pushed in my opinion but he's a good wrestler with a lot of promise.

I think that's a pretty poor comparison. Shelton has been wrestling for eight years now. Eight years into Benoit
s career he was impressing people world wide. People cared about him much more than they do Shelton.

As for charisma...Benoit had it. He was never a good promo person. But in the ring he had great charisma. Something Shelton is also lacking.

8 years? He's only been in the WWE for 6....He was an amateur wrestler back in 2000 and from 2001-2002 he was apart of the OVW roster where obviously no one knew who he was......

Like I said. Eight years.

Yes im aware he wrestled for 8 years but comparing Benjamin's early career to Benoit's early career isn't fair. Benjamin's first year of wrestling was as an amateur wrestler then from 2001-2002 he went to OVW which is only televised in a couple states and might have not even been televised back then so therefore no one knew who he was. Benoit on the other hand started wrestling in Stampede Wrestling which was on national television (correct me if im wrong) so he had an advantage on getting noticed faster than Benjamin did.

Wow, this was a very tough vote. Now, I'm sure no one could argue that Shelton and Kofi are equal or nearly equal to one another in terms of athleticsm. That's why I loved their fued so much on ECW. But after a while of debating with myself, I finally settled for Kofi Kingston.

Now, had I rushed into this topic I would've immediately picked Shelton Benjamin. I honestly can't tell you how many matches from Benjamin I've been entertained by. But Shelton lacks three things that Kofi has. Those being mic skills, charisma, and drawing ability.

Shelton, while keeping my eyes glued to the TV Set when he wrestles, utterly puts me to sleep when he has a mic in his hand. I'm sorry, but he's a snoozefest. Shelton also can't seem to get over. He can't even get the fans to hate him for Chirst's sake. I believe MTM said this: when he comes out it's like "oh, Shelton Benjamin is here".

Now, I'm not going to argue with anyone about this, as I can see as to how you'd pick Benjamin over Kofi, as I almost picked Benjamin. It's just my opinion.

JC James and SOL/MTM at it again. Dance puppets, dance!!! Twisted Evil

This was a hard decision for me. Both men are phenominal athletes and have proved themselves in the ring. Their feud was interesting, even it was just a weekly show feud and never found itself on a PPV card. And both men certainly deserve their current positions in the company, even if they were just given the titles because of their heritage, which I'm not saying is the reason!

But I give the edge to Shelton Benjamin in this one. Don't get me wrong, Kofi's charisma is off the charts and he sure can work a crowd excellently, but Shelton Benjamin has been around a bit longer and has proved himself more in the ring with great matches against big names such as HBK, Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, and Eddie Guerrero among others. Kofi Kingston has been involved in a bunch of squash matches before entering his first decent role against Shelton and that's when he got lots of recognition. Prior to that, he was just another new guy that would show up for a few weeks before vanishing.

I know that Shelton Benjamin is VERY stale on the mic and pretty boring overall when talking, but so are many others. Tony Atlas is even worse than Shelton and he's a Hall of Famer and it's safe to say that Shelton Benjamin is a greater athlete than Atlas was. Mic ability is big in the business, but it doesn't determine how great a wrestler is...at least, to me it doesn't, although it could help.

However, Kofi Kingston is younger than Shelton and he has just started, so he has PLENTY of time to overthrow Shelton and I believe that he will in due time. Kofi Kingston is probably the hottest newcomer alongside Vladimir Kozlov and Matt Sydal at the moment and SHOULD win "Best Rookie" or "Most Improved" awards this year. It's still just the beginning for Kofi Kingston. In a years time, my answer to this question can change. It's just that I've seen so much more from Shelton than Kofi, so I have to give it to Shelton in the long run.

I voted for Kofi. I don't think it's any secret that I'm a big fan of both of these guys, but being the best wrestler does not necessarily translate into being the best champion. I enjoy Shelton Benjamin's in-ring work and I am glad he is champion, but as others have pointed out he is not over with the fans right now. Kofi seems much more over to me and has been able to get some fans involved in his matches with his Thunder Clap. I feel that Kofi plays the face better than Shelton plays the heel. I'm not trying to take anything away from Benjamin, but I believe Kofi does have an edge over him for these reasons.
